The United Nations launched new technical standards to support the creation and exchange of electronic consignment notes on 4 April. Currently, transport operators often have to use different e-CMR services with varying standards but the International Road Transport Union (IRU) has worked with the UN Centre for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business to develop the standards, which will enable seamless data sharing.
