Maersk shifts focus away from shipping

Maersk Line's parent company AP Moller-Maersk said on 9 October that it was shifting investment away from container shipping to concentrate other core businesses including its Oil, APM Terminals and Drilling businesses. The latter would in future account for 50% of invested capital compared with 34% currently. Maersk said that falling freight rates and over tonnaging had made the container sector less attractive.  [+]
