IATA has partnered with climate action non-profit organization, Smart Freight Centre (SFC), to provide better emissions calculations for air cargo.
They will develop the cargo component of IATA’s CO2 Connect emission calculation platform, already launched for passengers in 2022.
CO2 Connect uses airline specific fuel burn figures for full freighter and passenger aircraft and cargo and passenger load factors to determine emissions.
