Leipzig/Halle Airport handler PortGround has been recertified to IATA’s CEIV Pharma standard. The Mitteldeutsche Flughafen hub, which is Europe’s third-largest for cargo has again been cleared to handle time-sensitive and temperature-sensitive shipments.

Leipzig Halle Airport recorded 18.6% growth in air freight in September, its strongest for eight years. Overall, the German airport handled about 120,758 tonnes of cargo. Air freight handled during the first nine months of the year rose to roughly 986,389 tonnes, an increase of 8.1%.
