A Lufthansa Cargo Boeing 777F due to take off from Frankfurt to Shanghai at 8:10am on Sunday 29 November will be the first ever commercial flight to use only Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Operated in conjunction with forwarder DB Schenker it will be powered by synthetic kerosene produced mainly from biomass, such as vegetable and cooking oils.

Lufthansa Cargo has presented DB Schenker with an award in recognition of its cooperation with the German-owned forwarder which it said had led to growth in Europe and other important markets, under its Global Partnership Programme.
