Monarch goes into administration – updated

Monarch Airlines went into administration and ceased trading on 2 October, stranding around 110,000 British passengers overseas. The carrier blamed recent terror attacks in Turkey and Egypt which have hit its business to those countries badly, along with intense completion on other short-haul routes within Europe, the weak Pound and rising operating costs.
