Trial trains to run from London Gateway to the City

Rail operator Orion is to run a trial freight service from London Gateway to London Liverpool Street station next year, according to a report in Rail magazine. The train, which are expected to operate in April or May next year, will use Class 769 bi-mode electric/diesel rolling stock converted from former passenger carriages. There will be three departures a day, which will use the normal passenger platforms at London Liverpool Street. [+]
