Portsmouth International Port has gained approval for a customs site as part of the Solent Freeport. It will complement the tax site at Portsmouth City Council's Dunsbury Park business development.
HMRC's designation will allow authorised businesses to import certain with simplified customs documentation, and without paying tariffs.
The port's customs site will be run by cargo terminal operator Portico Shipping.
Along with Solent Gateway on Southampton Water, Solent Freeport now offers two customs sites.
