The High Court has refused an appeal by St Albans Council against the granting of planning permission for the Radlett rail freight terminal, by Eric Pickles, the Secretary of State. Freight on Rail manager Philippa Edmunds, welcomed the decision, saying: “Radlett has become a test case because of its location in the South East where there is a lack of alternative sites with good road and rail connections.”
