The Cateran Corps

[ June 9, 2016   //   ]

Don’t worry – it’s only the Forth Ports team in the gruelling 54mile ‘Cateran Yomp’ in Perthshire to raise money for The Soldiers’ Charity this weekend (11-12 June).

Cateran is an adventure challenge where teams trek across 54 miles of farmland and footpaths, as well as the hills of the Cairngorms National Park, continuously over a 24 hour period.

The Forth Ports Scotland comprises Jason Thirlwall, John Reid, Port Graeme Tweedie, Scott Mitchell-Lay and Craig Wright. Forth Ports has donated £1,000 for their fundraising and all the wearable kit. The team is hoping to raise over £3,000.

Jason Thirlwall said: “The team and I would like to thank Forth Ports for their generous donation and support with the kit for the trek. The charity is close to my heart being an ex-soldier and I know this Yomp will be tough for the team so we have been training hard and increasing our distance covered over the past few months. We know it will be a challenge and we expect many blisters, but we are looking forward to it and hope to report our success next week.”
