Jacksonville, Florida-based transportation company has appointed Tony Kvasnicka as president of its ocean division. He will oversee the company’s operations in the Caribbean, including the Puerto Rican trade lane, port operations in Jacksonville and San Juan, account management, support services, and asset maintenance.

Kvasnicka is a US Coast Guard veteran with a decade of service. He was hired by Trailer Bridge in 2017 to manage the company’s vessel operations and in 2023 was promoted to vice president of Ocean Operations.

Trailer Bridge chief executive Mitch Luciano said: “Not only does he have the industry knowledge and expertise needed, but his commitment to service and work ethic is like no other. He is the first to step up and get his hands dirty to ensure cargo is delivered to our neighbours on the island – that type of dedication is what makes companies great and transforms teams.”

Founded in 1991 by industry pioneer Malcom McLean, Trailer Bridge was established to serve the Puerto Rican trade lane and has expanded to offer a full-service, global logistics solution. It is one of four Jones Act carriers operating between the US and Puerto Rico with a weekly barge service to and from the island. Trailer Bridge also provides ocean transport to the Dominican Republic through its partner carrier.

In June 2024, the company made its first move across the Pond with the launch of Trailer Bridge Europe, based in Frankfurt, Germany.
