Transaid launches Uganda driver programme

Transaid, with support from the Employment and Skills for Development in Africa Programme, has launched an urgent response to support HGV drivers in Uganda during the Covid pandemic. The international development organisation is working with local partners to roll-out safety advice and provide hand-washing facilities, cab sanitisation materials and PPE. Truck drivers entering Uganda have faced hostility from communities and long delays at borders, often with no access to sanitation facilities.
