Trump tariffs in force

The US has imposed tariffs on imported washing machines and solar panels, as part ofPresident Donald Trump’s ‘America First’ trade policy. The administration warned that similar actions would follow.

The move followed complaints to the International Trade Commission by US-based washing machine manufacturer Whirlpool and solar panel firms Suniva and Solar World Americas.
