Turkey introduces advanced manifest rule

Shipping line CSAV Group reports that Turkish Customs has issued a decree calling for manifest information for all containerised cargoes destined to or transshipped via Turkish ports to be submitted to them 24 hours before loading. The advanced manifest rule will enter into force on 1 January 2012 and there will be no transitional period, says CSAV. It adds that the regulation provides that the ocean carrier will be responsible for timely submission of the entry summary declaration (ENS), based on the information supplied by customers.
