UK and US sign post-Brexit customs deal
[ December 17, 2020 // Chris ]The UK and US have signed a customs cooperation agreement to handle trade after the UK exit’s the EU on 31 December. The Customs Mutual Assistance Agreement will allow customs authorities to continue to cooperate, including sharing data, to tackle customs fraud and provides the legal underpinning for schemes to ease trade flows. It will also provide the legal basis for the Authorised Economic Operator mutual recognition.
