UPS to sue Brussels for billions over failed TNT deal
[ February 26, 2018 // Chris ]UPS said on 26 February that it plans to sue the European Commission over its blocking of its planned takeover of Dutch-headquartered operator TNT five years ago.
It follows the General Court of the European Union annulation of the Commission regulators’ decision last year on the grounds that they had used flawed analysis – which however came too late to save the deal as TNT had by then already been taken over by rival FedEx.
According to court papers, UPS has filed a claim for €1.74 billion, plus interest.
