WACO member ready for Afghan revival

[ July 25, 2017   //   ]

WWG Consolidators Ltd (WWGC), the WACO System member for Pakistan, has launched a dedicated cross-border Pakistan-Afghan transit desk. It comes after the Pakistan Government announced it will establish new transit facilities at the country’s borders with Torkham and Chaman, Afghanistan and Wagah, India, under the Integrated Transit Trade Management Systems (ITTMS) project.

WACO executive director, Richard Charles, explained: “Afghanistan and Pakistan have rapidly growing economies and tremendous business opportunities for partners around the globe.”

WWGC has made an agreement with a cross-border transit operator, with offices are located at the Pakistan-Afghan borders as well as in Kabul, Kandahar, and Mazar-e-Shareef and operates a dedicated bonded fleet.

“The Afghan transit trail is becoming increasingly important especially taking into account the country’s ongoing major rehabilitation and rebuilding projects,” added Jahangir Raza of WWG Consolidators.

“It is a very challenging task, especially in a war-torn country like Afghanistan, but we have witnessed it first-hand – the business potential in Afghanistan is tremendous.

“We have had great feedback from our partners, and we do believe that continuous partnerships can help us achieve even more.”
