Warehouse marks a new era for Ipswich forwarder
[ September 8, 2023 // Chris Lewis ]Family firm Buckle Shipping (Ipswich) opened a new warehouse on 7 September. The 78,000sq ft fully bonded unit offers racking up to eight pallets high, with storage height spaces ranging from 1.2m to 2.7m. With a mezzanine for bulkier items, it can store about 12,000 pallets and also includes an onsite container lift. The business also has plans to handle food with a BRC certification.
It is located at the Port One logistics park in Great Blakenham, which forms part of site in the entire Freeport East Zone and is 20-minutes from Felixstowe.
Buckle Shipping was founded over half a century ago by the late John Cusworth and the late Ian Buckle. Their wives, Judith Cusworth and Marion Buckle remain shareholders with John’s son Andrew Cusworth heading up the business as managing director and Ian’s son Tom Buckle also a director.
Buckle Shipping operations director, Tom Maddison said: “The opening of our bespoke-designed warehouse is a testament to our unwavering commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction. Andrew Cusworth added: “Many of our clients who joined us at our inception are still with us today.”
