We’re still flying, says Silkway
[ February 25, 2020 // Chris ]Silkway West Airlines says it has kept its scheduled and charter flights to China from its Baku hub despite the corona epidemic.
It is operating 20 flights a week in accordance with recommendations from the World Health Organisation and other regulatory bodies as well as Silkway’s own restrictions including eliminating crew layovers in China.
Chief executive and president Wolfgang Meier said: “We have decided to honour the loyalty of our BSA (Blocked Space Agreement) customers also throughout difficult times. We are a forwarder’s airline and we will further expand on those relationships by enhancing the group of close partners.
“In addition, we would like to thank our pilots and the entire team in being utmost cooperative in finding the right pattern to keep up the operation throughout.”
