Woodland Group opens first Continental base
[ February 3, 2021 // Chris ]UK forwarder Woodland Group has opened its first warehouse in mainland Europe, a 34,649sq ft eCommerce facility in Rotterdam, Netherlands, under the name Redwood Fulfilment.
It will offer clients a direct route to market in mainland Europe for Woodland Group’s B2B and B2C clients, three of which are already using the facility.
It is located in the Waalhaven District of the port of Rotterdam, directly connected to the rail network and on the main route between port and connected industrial areas. It has storage space for over 6,000 pallets.
Redwood Fulfilment operations are headed by Johan Smink and Erwin Regtvoort, bringing more than 30 years’ experience in warehousing and distribution between them.
Woodland Group chairman and chief executive, Kevin Stevens, said the new site would: “support our clients’ growth and guide them through the latest changes and challenges faced by the industry, amongst them the UK transition and impact of Covid-19.
“Launching our first distribution facility in the Netherlands kicks off an exciting part of Woodland Group’s development as we continue to grow our footprint through 2021 and beyond to provide dedicated solutions to meet the needs of our clients. Having Erwin and Johan head up the operations locally enables Redwood Fulfilment to deliver a huge amount of experience, the latest in technology and IT integration backed by a support network across the world through our owned offices and dedicated facilities.”
