Work starts on Dnata City phase two
[ February 23, 2021 // Chris ]Aberdeen Standard Investments’ AIPUT fund (Airport Industrial Property Unit Trust) has started construction on Phase II of Dnata City East, a 117,000 sq ft extension of its existing hub to the south of Heathrow. Full planning permission for the building was granted in August 2020. The building will be operated by cargo handler dnata, , together with the nearby 250,000sq ft Dnata City East Phase I warehouse.
Due for completion by early October, the new building will strengthen dnata City East’s status as the largest off-airport cargo handling operation at Heathrow.
The latest carbon reduction techniques will be incorporated. Recycled and low-carbon materials will be used where possible, together with solar PV panels, air-source heat pumps and electric vehicle charging points.
