XPO joins the dots across Europe
[ September 18, 2024 // Chris Lewis ]XPO has introduced a new system, Connect Europe, to simplify the management of shipments to 25 European countries, from single pallets to full loads.
It offers international shippers a single point of contact, reducing intermediaries and complexity with streamlined processes and an integrated network of more than 150 transport and distribution centres across Europe.
XPO Logistics operates over 8,000 of its own trucks, 12,000 trailers and a distribution network that delivers over 60,000 pallets daily.
The company also offers customers the opportunity to reduce their carbon footprint by using alternative fuels such as HVO, biogas, and electricity, available as part of the XPO Low Emissions Sustainable Solution.
Operations senior vice-president for Europe, Emmanuel Arnaud, said: “We recognise that it is imperative for companies to rethink logistics to successfully manage unprecedented volume volatility. Disruptions such as Brexit, the COVID-19 pandemic, the sea freight crisis and, more recently, the need for businesses to adapt to an inflationary environment have all accelerated the near-shoring of production chains to Europe and North Africa while forcing the redefinition of continental supply chains.”
